Who Has a Sitting Room? Here’s Some Inspo to Help Make the Room Functional & Guest Friendly

Our new house has a spare or “bonus” room which the listing called a sitting room. After months of reconfiguring the first floor set up we decided on using our fireplace room as the designated sitting room. We knew we wanted to the room to be used but didn’t know exactly how we were going to make that happen because our main “living room” is where we spend our day to day lives. We also started out with a hand me down deep blue couch, end tables, and coffee table that were all in good shape so I needed to work around those colors and textures.

I knew I needed some colors (unlike the rest of the house that I have kept extremely neutral because the blue couch wasn’t going anywhere for the time being. I decided on some colors that complimented the blue + that brought me to this color palette (whites, browns, wood). I have received so many compliments on this room (via social media thank you COVID) and I think the leather poufs really bring the room together nicely.

I also added a gallery wall, a wood mantle, and some small pieces to the room to make it feel more inviting (because let’s be serious… white chairs are not). Adding the TV to the room instantly made the room more appealing to us and now when we are cooking dinner, eating, or sitting by the fire this room is used all the time! Below are the links for most items pictured above! If you see something that isn’t linked shoot me a message & I will send you it or something similar.
